Shelby and Ford recently celebrated their 40th anniversary – which of course means that they produced a limited edition car. What better way to celebrate than with a GT500KR that has the power to push out 540 horsepower. As always only a limited amount of these cars will be produced and released to the public. This time is different.
Shelby will be releasing an extra 746 during the 2009 model year. We aren’t sure if they made this decision because of the popularity of the car or because they don’t want the celebration to end. Whatever the reason we aren’t arguing.
Around 541 GT500KR’s will be shipped to the U.S. pushing the total amount to 1,571 – which was the production run amount when the original KR was pushed out.
