Ford Mustang Blue Angels created for EAA AirVenture

Posted by admin On October - 25 - 2011

Every year, before the EAA AirVenture show, Ford releases a unique Ford Mustang model. The automobile, which has Avia design, during the show is sold in an auction, and all the money received for the car is donated to the EAA Young Eagles program, which is a pilot training program.

This year, the one-off, aviation-themed Mustang GT was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of naval aviation. Ford Mustang Blue Angels comes with a specific blue-and-yellow color scheme that takes itself from the colors of the ’Blue Angels’ fighter.

Ford upgraded the Mustang’s powertrain, improving the output of the car’s 5.0-liter V8 engine from 412 horsepower to 500 horsepower. There is also Ford Racing handling package, a new performance exhaust, and race-track capable brakes.

Usually, this automobile is quite expensive. Could this be because the model is unique, or people bid on it because it is charity? Last year, Ford Mustang SR-71 Blackbird was sld for $375,000, while, couple of years before, there has been cases that the cars were sold for $500,000.

This year shouldn‘t be an exception – “Blue Angel”, the new Ford Mustang, has received a large interest from the potential buyers. The car was created by the company called Creation ‘n Chrome. It is worth noting, that painting the car in chrome blue color took 600 hours itself.
